“But concerning the day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of Heaven, nor the Son, only the Father.” – Matthew 24:36
I do not wish to prophesy because the prophets will be ashamed. I do not wish to presume because presumption is as the sin of witchcraft. I do not wish to merely calculate because the wise will become as fools. What then? I pray to be ready.
“Therefore you also must be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect.” Matthew 24:44
How then are we to be ready? Expect the LORD when he is not to be expected to a world that will weep to meet Him. We are a generation raised at the turn of a millennia. We were born on one side of a technological event horizon and together we crossed over. We are on the cusp of inventing our greatest creation. The closest we have ever become to being ‘gods’ in our own minds and creating intelligent life in our own image. Artificial intelligence is here and it is also just knocking at the door.
Ask a Christian, how old do you think the world is? You will get many interesting responses I’m sure. Some say the world is 6,000 years old, others say the world is billions of years old. They say some people are “Young Earth” believers and others “Old Earth” believers. Maybe quantum physics allows for them both to be right but that is for a different day. I would say if you ask Christians or even asked “ChatGPT” how old Christians think the world is the answer would be 6,000 years old. The standard reasoning for this is simple math. Calculate using Scripture’s timelines and you find yourself going back around 6,000 years to Adam and Eve.
Another parallel reason as a Christian to believe in the 6,000 year young Earth is when you understand the purpose of the world in relation to it’s Creator. We do not know all of God’s intentions but we do know the outcomes because he has given us glimpses of them in Scripture. The end summation and result of human history is the wedding supper of the Lamb. The culmination of everything, the final end of history and beginning of eternity is the Marriage between Jesus Christ and His Church. As believers in Jesus we are His bride. In fact man and woman, husbands and wives, weddings themselves are shadows of this eternal purpose. It is no mystery then why the enemy is attacking so aggressively in our culture these earthly realities such as gender and marriage because they reflect his ultimate demise. The last thing the devil see’s before going into the lake of fire forever is the wedding bell’s of Jesus Christ and His Bride the Holy Church. Now what does the point of human history have to do with the length of human history? If the point of human history is a wedding, then the length should be that of a wedding. In ancient Israel the Jewish people had a week long feast for their weddings called the Nissuin. The number 7 in scripture and in Jewish tradition represents completion. God created the world in 6 days and on the 7th He rested. Jesus Christ left to prepare a home for His Bride and He is returning on the 7th day to rest with Her. The Bible says 1 day for the LORD is as 1,000 years for man. It is logical then if God created the world in 7 days then that the length of the world should be 7,000 years. With the groom returning to retrieve His Bride at the 6,000 year mark.
The world also believes in a 6,000 year old world they just don’t know it. Why is it human beings have existed for hundreds of thousands of years where we were of the quality of “cave people” and yet we had the same mind and intelligence we possess now? We went hundreds of thousands of years as a species and invented absolutely nothing substantial and lasting up until the past 10,000 years let’s say? Why is it written language is only 5,000 years old? By traditional scientific methods without knowing it they recognized something happened around 6,000 years ago that caused human beings to go from not quite people to a thinking, speaking, creating people. We went from the wheel to the internet in 6,000 years. What happened 6,000 years ago? Adam and Eve Happened. Creation happened, the spirit of God breathed upon man is what happened. Leave the science of it to God.
Assume then we accept the World as we know it as God created it is 6,000 years old according to scripture and the interpretation of history that the Spirit of God provides us. What am I saying? I am saying God created the world in what we would call the year 4,000 BC and we now reside in the year AD 2025. The term AD itself means “In the year of our LORD” in Latin. The LORD did not return at the 2000 year mark from His arrival because the LORD had only left for 1,967 years since His departure at that point. Which then leads us to the year AD 2033. The 6,000th year in history plus the length of the life of Christ, 2033.
If then the length of history is 6,033 years from the beginning to Christ return then the completion of the Week, of the Creation, of Earth itself would be at 7033 or AD 3033. If Jesus returns and the Church is raptured at the 6,033 year mark, than what happens the other 1,000 years? The last thousand years of History. Well what happened the last day of Creation? The LORD rested. The bible calls this time the millennial reign of Christ. LORD Jesus will reign from Jerusalem as King over the whole world for 1,000 years. It was the very inspiration for all ancient Hebrew prophecy. It is the time the weapons are made into plowsheers, the time the lion will lay down next to the lambs. There will be utter peace as Christ reigns as LORD and King.
Ok so the cat’s out of the bag at this point. I believe it is most logical and according to the Spirit that Jesus Christ may return in or around the year 2033. When we do the math adding on top of the life of Christ, also the length of His walking the Earth after His resurrection which was 40 days. Then the LORD should return in the year 2033 around Spring time. It is of no use to attempt to calculate the day and hour, the LORD has made it a mystery. What we should expect of His return is that it is unexpected to the world at large.
In my next post I will be discussing and contemplating what it means for the Great Tribulation and the Anti-Christ if the LORD is to return in the year 2033 and also how our current global event’s confirm or not the belief in the Return of Christ will happen in 2033, or as I like to call it. Skyfall 2033.
